I heard
a woman speak, many years ago, who had become blind at age 15.
She talked about how discouraging it had been. But this woman had such grace and such a beautiful love for Jesus.
She shared a story about something her little boy had said to her that was so
amazing to me. They were going to play a game together, but were having a tough
time because of her disability. He very sweetly agreed to choose another game,
but she could tell by his tone of voice that he was a little sad about it.
After a few moments of silence, he said something so profound (he was, like, 10
years old!). He told her that he didn't think that the Lord would heal her
sight while she was here on earth, and that the reason for that was (and this
is what he told her), "Jesus wants you to love heaven more." He
explained that if she were to be able to see again, on earth, she might like
things here so much that she would not ever want to go to Heaven.
Because we believe in Jesus, Heaven is our real home. It's the place that we should be longing for! I just thought it was so cool to consider the fact that the first face she'll see is going to be that of her Savior, Jesus Christ?! I want to always remember the truth that Heaven is the better place to be.
The Bible says that God has placed eternity in the hearts of men (Ecc. 3:11). I pray that so many more would all come to know the Lord, and realize the hope of Heaven deep within their hearts!

Are you
ready for heaven?
